Adnkronos Salute is the market’s leading information agency in the field of medicine and health: set up in 1995, it is now a point of reference for information relating to health, not only for the sector, but also for the Media. In addition to its various multimedia productions and journalistic formats, since 2011, Adnkronos Salute has offered all Sky’s medicine graduate subscribers, free of charge and in encrypted form, Doctor’s Life, the first television channel of scientific dissemination for Doctors of General Medicine, Specialist Doctors, Dentists and Pharmacists, visible on Sky channel 440.
The project
Doctor’s Life offers medical subscribers a range of content to meet the diverse needs for information and training of the medical profession.
The schedule consists of 3 editorial production blocks:
• Information
The information program schedule is constantly updated and includes formats ranging from the news to weekly current affairs programs (SalusTv), research (JournalTribune), as well as talk shows with studio debates (in Sanità), in-depth analysis current affairs (Noi Health) and event reductions (inside Meeting). To supplement the schedule, there are also short productions (3-5 minutes) including Top Doctor, Vero o Falso, fillers and medical prescriptions (La Dolce Vita).
• Entertainment
Documentaries and docu-fictions in the field of science and medicine produced or distributed by international players, such as National Geographic or the American PBS network, whose distribution rights in Italy have been taken over by Adnkronos.
• Training
Training courses accredited to the Continuing Medical Education program and produced by the most important opinion leaders in the field of medicine and health.
Providing CME courses: What they are and who they are aimed at
The channel provides CME courses, offering studio-based frontal lessons with a traditional slant and a teacher illustrating a topic supported by slides integrated into the video layout. Graphical summaries re-propose the lesson’s highlights. The training courses are completed on the site www.doctorslife.it where users carry out the tests required by current legislation. The training process is multi-platform.
Users who have activated satellite channel viewing can complete the training through the site www.doctorslife.it and the next-generation smartphones and tablets from which both Android and Apple systems can reach the mobile training platform. The training part of the Doctor’s Life project has a scientific committee and a training manager to guarantee the quality of the courses.
